What makes for a superb connection?
How do you know you are being understood, accepted, held?
Perhaps it's being with people who evolve at your speed, or who speak your language and who think in a similar way to you.
Maybe it's an energy that people have when they talk that makes you feel at home. Like you are totally alive and in sync with that person. You enjoy the conversation and learn something from each other.
Body language is a massive factor in connection, from eye contact to body posture. Someone who has their shoulders back, relaxed and is comfortable in their body is very attractive. Then the way they are around you and how they may gently touch you on the hand or shoulder when they are talking to you, builds connection.
Making strong connections is about being able to hear the person in-front of you, to take time to listen when they speak. Try to understand the value some of the things that are important to them and why they are speaking the way they do.
I learnt that an interesting person is a person who asks questions about people. Everyone loves to talk about themselves, imagine your job is to find out the most interesting thing about the person infant of you.
Take time to understand yourself, and why you do what you do. In doing this you become proficient at understanding and reading others. When you can empathise and understand someone you have instant connection.
